Midwest Small Fruit and Grape Network is created by the Ohio State University Extension Service. It provides information on management, commercial production, harvesting, and marketing of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, highbush blueberries, and grapes.
NAFEX, North American Fruit Explorers, Inc. -- A network of individuals throughout the U.S. and Canada devoted to the discovery, cultivation and appreciation of superior varieties of fruits and nuts. Includes table of contents for Pomona magazine.
Northwest Berry and Grape Information Network -- Developed to provide a dynamic information and communications resource for the berry and grape industries of the Pacific Northwest.
The Strawberry: History, Breeding and Physiology by George M Darrow. This full text publication is published under the auspices of the New England Institute for Medical Research
University of California Fruit & Nut Research and Information Center -- Information source for fruit and nut crops.
Virtual Orchard -- This site provides a forum for research and extension projects dealing with commercial apple production and marketing issues. The goal is to serve as a clearinghouse for apple information for commercial fruit growers.

Buck Rose Web Site -- Contains descriptions, photos, and a list of industry sources for rose varieties developed by Griffith Buck.

Vegetables:

Asian Vegetable Research & Development Center (AVRDC) -- AVRDC is the principal international center for vegetable research and development in the world. Its mission is to reduce poverty and malnutrition in developing countries through improved production and consumption of vegetables.
VegEdge -- This site provides timely information about all aspects of vegetable crop integrated pest management, with particular focus on insect pest management in the Midwestern United States.
Vegetable MD Online -- A collection of fact sheets about vegetable diseases created by the Department of Plant Pathology at Cornell University.
VRIC: Vegetable Research and Information Center -- Fosters research, and collects and disseminates information relevant to consumers, growers and processors in the California vegetable industry.

Viticulture:

ISU Viticulture Home Page
Viticulture (AgNIC) -- provides access to information on the World Wide Web related to Viticulture, a.k.a. grape growing, primarily in the USA.

Fruit/Vegetable Crop Production:

Alternative Field Crops Manual -- Detailed information on the production of a number of agronomic crops adapted to the upper Midwest.
Produce Facts -- The latest recommendations for maintaining postharvest quality of horticultural perishables, including information about maturity and quality indices, optimum temperature and relative humidity, rates of respiration and ethylene production rates, and other relevant information.
Small Farm Center -- is a part of the University of California's Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources. It provides research results, publications, and educational programs on small farm topics.
Small-Scale Fruit Production: A Comprehensive Guide -- This manual has been developed as a resource for people who wish to produce fruit on a small scale (on one acre or less) and who are not legally licensed to use pesticides. Created by Penn State Collage of Agriculture.
UC SAREP Cover Crop Resource Page -- The information in the database concerns the management and effects of more than 32 species of plants usable as cover crops. More than 400 different cover crop images are also available for viewing online. Produced by the University of California Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program.

Cornell Composting -- Web site is maintained by the Cornell Waste Management Institute and provides access to a variety of composting educational materials and programs developed at Cornell University. It serves to give the layman an in-depth look at the cycle of decomposition and offers resources to assist in composting.
CyberFarm is an Ohio State University site. It provides links to many sites relating to sustainable agriculture.
The Garden Gate -- A collection of links to resources on gardening and horticulture.
Gardening Online Fact Sheets -- Concise, authoritative information on various aspects of gardening. A Colorado State University extension site.
GardenWeb: The Internet's Garden Community -- Links to gardening-related Internet sites.
Internet Gardening -- Created by the University Libraries Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Contains a list of gardening related sites found on the Internet.
Iowa Master Gardener Program -- The Program provides current, research-based, home horticulture information and education to the citizens of Iowa through ISU Extension programs and projects.
National Gardening -- The National Gardening Association is a nonprofit organization established to help gardeners, and to help people through gardening.
PlantCare.com -- A database of over 1,300 species of house and greenhouse plants which provides 18 categories of care, from watering to lighting.
Spirit of Gardening Contains quotations, poetry and history of gardening.
USDA Home Gardening -- USDA website on gardening. Includes links to information on gardening and horticulture.

Insect Pollination of Cultivated Crop Plants -- A virtual bee keeping book originally published in 1976 and updated continuously.
Pollination Home Page -- This commercial site contains resources on pollination.

Pests and Pest Control:

Plant Disease Clinic (ISU) -- Provides diagnostic support for county and area Extension personnel and the residents of Iowa. The clinic is supported by the Department of Plant Pathology, ISU Extension and the Extension Integrated Pest Management Program.

ARS Image Gallery -- The image gallery is provided as a complimentary source of high quality digital photographs available from the USDA Agricultural Research Service Information staff. Includes images of crops, plants, animals, insects, fruits/vegetables, and field/lab research.
CalPhotos: Plants -- University of California, Berkeley. Provides accesses to more than 45,000 images of plants. A variety of organizations and individuals have contributed photographs to CalPhotos.
International Code of Botanical Nomenclature -- St. Louis Code adopted by the Sixteenth International Botanical Congress St Louis, Missouri, July-August 1999.
The International Plant Names Index (IPNI) is a database of the names and associated basic bibliographical details of all seed plants. Its goal is to eliminate the need for repeated reference to primary sources for basic bibliographic information about plant names.

The Herbarium of the United States - National Arboretum
Kearneysville Tree Fruit Research and Education Center, West Virginia University -- Homepage of the Center. Provides links to the Center's programs, disease and insect research.
National Clonal Germplasm Repository -- Located in Corvallis, Oregon, the Repository is agene bank that preserves invaluable plant genetic resources of temperate fruit, nut, and agronomic crops.
National Plant Germplasm System -- A cooperative effort by public (State and Federal) and private organizations to preserve the genetic diversity of plants. There are over 10,000 genera and 435,000 accessions in the NPGS.
Plant Introduction Station -- One of the four regional centers, the station maintains seed (germplasm) collections of 30,000 individual lines.
Trees and Shrubs of the Campus of Iowa State University -- Contains descriptions of 100 large plant species found on the ISU campus, including bark, leaf, habitat, and use characteristics. Includes photographs, maps, a glossary, and a bibliography.
