Natural Resources Inventory - conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service, in cooperation with the Iowa State University Statistical Laboratory, the National resources inventory is a statistically-based survey of land use and natural resource conditions and trends on U.S. nonfederal lands. Focus is on urbanization, erosion, wetlands, land use, prime farmland, and irrigation.

Wetlands Reserve Program - a voluntary program offering landowners the opportunity to establish long-term conservation and wildlife practices to protect, restore, and enhance wetlands on their property. The goal is to achieve the greatest wetland functions and values, along with optimum wildlife habitat, on every acre enrolled in the program.
