Arabinet : Arabidopsis Information on the World Wide Web -- Presents a collection of resources on Arabidopsis, provided by the Department of Molecular Biology at Massachusetts General Hospital. Provides access to related informatics, stock centers, genetics resources, and physical map graphics.
GENRES, Information System on Genetic Resources -- The Information System on Genetic Resources (GENRES) is maintained by the Information Centre for Genetic Resources (IGR) at the German Centre for Documentation and Information in Agriculture (ZADI) as an information system on the Internet. GENRES connects the centralized meta, factual and evaluated data on genetic resources in Germany at the IGR with the decentralized data existing in institutions which are involved in GENRES. GENRES refers i.a. to passport, identification and evaluation data as well as to information about taxonomy, utilization and endangering of different species. Data about institutions, literature, projects and other services are available. GENRES provides information about national, European and international activities on conservation and sustainable utilization of genetic resources for food, agriculture and forestry. A site search engine is available.
International Plant Genetic Resources Institute-- Home site of the IPGRI, which works to strengthen the conservation and use of plant genetic resources, in partnership with other organizations, undertaking research, training and the provision of scientific and technical advice and information.
National Clonal Germplasm Repository -- Located in Corvallis, Oregon, the Repository is a genebank that preserves invaluable plant genetic resources of temperate fruit, nut, and agronomic crops. Posts contact information via mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail. Notes that cultivars (clones) are stored as growing plants, while wild species are generally preserved as seed. Discusses the activities at the Repository, including tissue culture, cryogenic preservation, pathogen testing, and germplasm evaluation.
The National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS) -- The National Plant Germplasm System is a cooperative effort by state, federal, and private organizations to preserve the genetic diversity of plants. This is done by acquiring, preserving, evaluating, documenting, and distributing crop germplasm resources. This site allows searching of the GRIN system and provides links to germplasm repositories, as well as related web sites.
Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture-- Contains an overview and documents of FAO's work promoting conservation of plant genetic resources worldwide, as well as a comprehensive list of links to relevant sites.
Plant Research International -- Plant Research International is a research institute which integrates knowledge in the fields of genetics and reproduction, crop protection, crop ecology and agricultural systems.
