The latest release of Engineering Village 2 includes a powerful new feature called Results Manager. Results Manager allows the user to create a set of records in one of three formats: citation, abstract, and detailed record. This set can be printed, e-mailed, or downloaded to the user's local hard drive.
The RIS Save/Download option of the Results Manager places a set of records into a file that can be imported into ISI's EndNote bibliographic software (http://www.endnote.com). The most popular software of its kind, EndNote allows users to search online bibliographic databases, organize their references, and create instant bibliographies.
In order for the user to be able to import EV2 Compendex records into EndNote, the user must have the following:
· The EndNote software correctly installed on his or her PC.NOTE: EndNote is not a free resource. There is a trial period, which ends with an option to buy or discontinue use. Please be aware of this before downloading EndNote.
· The Ei Compendex (Ei) filter, which can be downloaded from the following site: http://www.endnote.com/support/enfilters.asp. The filter must be saved into the EndNote filters directory.
There is a two-step process for importing EV2 Compendex records to EndNote:
· Export EV2 Compendex records into RIS format: Select RIS from the pull-down menu and click Save/Download in the Results Manager. In the Save As dialogue box, the user must create a file name and specify to which directory the file will be downloaded.
· Import records into EndNote: Open EndNote, select Import from the File menu. Choose the file to import, select "Ei Compendex (Ei)" for the Import Option in the Import dialogue box, and then click Import.
