Compendex

Compendex is a comprehensive engineering abstracts database and is the online version of Engineering Index. The database contains more than five million records, with over 220,000 records added annually. Source publications for Compendex include engineering-related journals, conference proceedings, and technical reports. Conference papers and publications comprise approximately 22% of the database, and 90% of all source documents are in English. The database is updated weekly, with coverage from 1884 to the present.

Major subject areas in Compendex include mechanical, civil, environmental, electrical, structural, chemical, and process engineering, as well as materials science, solid state physics and superconductivity, bioengineering, energy, optics, air and water pollution, solid waste management, hazardous waste, road transportation, transportation safety, manufacturing, quality control, and engineering management.
