Click on the Discussions link on the left navigation bar from the Library 160 WebCT Home Page.
The main Discussions screen that lets you do things
like:
Read messages posted by your Section Instructor, and other Students.
Create messages and post them to discussion topics.
Create a printable view of messages that you can print or download.
There are columns in the Discussions table that tell you things
like:
The discussion subject
The author’s name
And the date the message was posted
When you click on a subject link, the message opens and you
can:
Reply to a message on the discussion board
Forward the message to someone in your course
Display a complete list of messages in the discussion thread.

My Grades
This feature allows you to check the points you’ve earned on each
assignment, and your grade. Under My Tools, Click on the My Grades link on the left navigation
menu.
On the My Grades page, assignment names will be in the Items column on the left.
The second column will contain assignment scores. The third column shows any available statistics about grades. And the final column contains any comments about grades. You can send an Excel copy of the report to your computer by clicking the Export button in the bottom left corner of the screen. Note: Partial or grades that are not complete are shown by (XX).
My Progress
The My Progress tool lets you view information about course participation. Under My Tools, click on the My Progress link on the left navigation
menu.
The table on the My Progress screen shows a number of things. It tells how many Sessions, (how many times) you logged in to the WebCT course, when a session started (First Access) and ended (Last Access), and how long each session lasted (Total Time). The My Progress screen shows other information including, how many folders and files you viewed, and the number of Discussion postings created and viewed.
Tips
Tip 1: Get around easy in WebCT
You can keep track of where you are easily in WebCT by looking at the “Bread
Crumb Trail” links near the top of each WebCT page. Links to the right of the My Location label form a trail
of links back to the top page in the site. The text on the far
right shows your current location in the WebCT site. A bread crumb trail for this course might look like, Your Location: Home Page > Course Information > Introduction to Library 160 > Using WebCT.
Tip 2: Learn more faster with WebCT Help
The WebCT help function is simple to use and very useful tool for understanding
the fine points of WebCT or getting a better understding of the basic processes.
Use WebCT Help by clicking on the Help link found near the top right
hand corner of every WebCT page. The help function opens to the topic
that matches the page you're on.
When you move between tools in in WebCT the toobar collapses from a text and icon menu to an icon (picture) only menu. If you want to switch back to the full view, click on the arrows to the right of the icon bar!
