Biographical note |
|
Julius Ansgar Larsen (1877-1977) was born in Drammen, Norway. He
moved to the United States as a teenager to live with his sister
in Connecticut. He received his B.A. (1908) and Master’s in
forestry (1910) from Yale University and his Ph.D. (1936) from
Iowa State College (University). |

Collection description |
|
The collection (1911-1979, n.d.) contains biographical information, correspondence, and published research articles. Many of the articles discuss forest fires and their effects on the surrounding ecology and the types of trees that could be found in the western United States. In addition, the papers include climatological research and tree growth data. |
