Historical note
|
|
The ISU Skydivers (formerly known as the Parachute Club) has existed at
Iowa State University since 1965. The students and faculty involved in the
organization currently jump with Accelerated FreeFall Iowa, which is
located at the Boone Municipal Airport. The club is open to any Iowa State
University student or staff/faculty member who wants to learn how to skydive.
The club usually jumps from late March to mid-November.
In the past, the Skydivers have participated in
various competitions, and have even landed on campus during VEISHEA. In
May 1998, three club members set a record by jumping into all five of Iowa’s
drop zones in one day, thereby creating a program known as the Iowa-5, for
anyone who could accomplish the feat.

The collection contains materials related the ISU Skydivers' activities,
as well as their financial and registration records.

Organization

With the exception of the first folder, which holds news clipping
and miscellaneous materials, the collection is arranged chronologically
according to the annual records of the club. |
