Historical note

The Iowa Beta Chapter of the Honor Society of Agriculture, Gamma Sigma Delta, was chartered in 1913. The objective of Gamma Sigma Delta is to encourage a high degree of excellence in the practice of agricultural pursuits and to encourage high standards of scholarship in all branches of agricultural science and education.

The membership of this chapter consists of those members of the National Society who may affiliate with the local chapter and those members who are elected into the Society by the local chapter. There are three types of elected membership in the chapter – students, faculty, and alumni. Seniors may be chosen from the College of Agriculture, the College of Veterinary Medicine and from the Department of Landscape Architecture.

 

Collection description

The collection contains banquet programs, initiation and award pamphlets, publications, yearly reports, constitutions and by-laws, news clippings, and booklets on the history of Gamma Sigma Delta.
