Biographical note

Jean M. MacFarlane, from Sioux City, Iowa, attended Iowa State College (University) starting in 1919. She received her B.S. (1924) in home economics and physical education. While at Iowa State she joined Gamma Phi Beta in the spring of 1920. Jean was President of the Freshman Commission and also served on the Sophomore Council and the Junior Advisory Board. She was a member of the Y.W.C.A., the Home Economics Club, the Hockey Team, and manager of the Girls’ Glee Club.

Collection description

This collection (1919-1924, n.d.) consists of a college scrapbook created by Jean M. MacFarlane. The collection includes an assortment of dance cards, news clippings, invitations, and other memorabilia. The scrapbook also contains photographs of Jean’s friends and classmates.
